The following is a short writeup on each member of the general cast of loonies (except SWMBO, of course) that will show up periodically in my posts. This does not represent the totality of each person/thing's traits or personality -- at least in most cases. The names are mostly fictitious for no good reason other than I get a kick out of it and it's my blog (so there.)

Just your average early-to-mid fourties, Christian, white, conservative, middle class geek with a penchant for video games and an unhealthy obsession with Little Debbie. I'm a web programmer/sysadmin at a sports marketing firm dealing with collegiate athletics. I also do some web hosting and development on the side and generally don't charge enough for it. I live in beautiful central Kentucky, in a town I refer to as "The Burg", with the other loonies (except SWMBO, of course) in this list, only some of which are human and only some of which breathe.
- SWMBO
-
My distinctly non-loony wife, the patient and loving mother of the two ringleaders of the loony bin that is our house (see below) and the woman whose only apparent flaw is that she married (and continues to put up with) me.
For an explanation of the acronym, click here.
- Thing 1 & Thing 2
-
My kids, blatantly named after the characters in Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat because, like those in the book, they're short and they run around the house making a mess. Ironically, neither of them has blue hair, but they've still got a lot of teenage years to go so they still might someday. They're also the best kids in the world.
- Larry, Curly & Moe
-
Three of the most lovable, loyal and utterly spastic dogs in the world. One is an unidentified mutt with "freaky eyes" (he'll be Larry, 'cos Stooge Larry was kinda freaky.) He was a pound adoption and is a glutton for attention with a body that can't seem to keep still. He's also the smallest of the three. Moe is a Liver-spotted Dalmation/English Setter cross (unintentionally) who was given to us by a woman at my workplace who had the mother at the time. She is the oldest of the three and in the middle sizewise. She is definitely my dog and is at my side anytime she's out of her kennel. Curly is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and the largest of the bunch. He's also youngest, which means he's a very large and bouncy. We actually bought him (on purpose, no less) from some friends who have both parents. He's a lotta dog, but he's great.
- Buster
-
Big, Ugly, Skanky Truck that Emits Rumbles. Buster is a '78 Ford F-150 4x4 that I bought the first summer we lived on the farm (after a winter which proved that transporting hay on the hood of a Maxima isn't as easy as it seems at first glance.) He's grumpy. He's cantankerous. And he's rusting out from under himself. But he's mechanically quite solid and can pull just about anything I would ever need pulled.
There are plenty more that need to go on this page. I'll get around to adding them eventually. Maybe.
